Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness…say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!”
After caroling on Wednesday, we started discussing our favorite Disney princesses. Belle of Beauty and the Beast, was a favorite mentioned because of her love of books and similar looks. Unique to Belle though, is her love of the unloveable. Belle loved the Beast, and in turn, the Beast learned to love. Salvation through love emits an uncontainable joy! Not only joy but praise of the one who changed the narrative of life.
We see this in Belle, but we live it in Christ. Psalm 96 is a responsive song of worship to the one who loved us first, sung by the Israelites but written to all the earth! This is the good news of Christmas that “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1: 14) We have seen His glory! His humble beginnings in that simple little manger. His obedience to the Father. His touch of the untouchable. His gaze on the unseen. His kindness to the hurt. His forgiveness towards the fallen. His faithfulness on the cross. His promise to come again and reign in forever righteousness.
So let us join in this song of the Israelites and tell of his salvation from day to day and declare his glory among the nations!
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
Luke 2:10-11
