When reading and reflecting on this Psalm, the theme of God’s work stood out to me, probably because it’s mentioned 5 times:
Vs. 2: Great are the works of the Lord
Vs. 3: Full of splendor and majesty is his work
Vs. 4: He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered
Vs. 6: He has shown his people the power of his works
Vs. 7: The works of his hands are faithful and just
Psalm 111 caused me to remember all that God has done - for the nations, for my community, for my friends and family, and for me. And when I did this, I couldn’t help but to praise him. He’s been so gracious and merciful (vs. 4), and deserves all my praise. Remembrance leads to praise.
This caused me to think about how I often times reflect on God’s works in my life alone, by myself, and I forget that sharing the amazing works of God with others is depriving them of praise. I think there’s something so special about experiencing the Lord and his work, sharing it with others, and then being able to praise God together.
So let’s remember, share, and praise God together, Christ City Church.
Love you all!
