Inhale: God With Me
Exhale: God For Me
I would describe this week’s psalm as small but mighty. There’s something about the words that David chooses to use that stops me in my tracks. He speaks of the Lord’s majesty and splendor. I’m not sure about you, but these aren’t necessarily words that I use often. David describes a God, the Creator, who is so much bigger than himself; larger than all the earth; more grand than the heavens. And yet, David poses an important question: Why us? Why do YOU care about US? In this small but mighty psalm David reminds us that, despite God’s all-encompassing power, He cares deeply about His creation, namely, the crowned jewel of His creation: you and me.
What a gift it is to know that the One who made us cares. He set us apart from all other creation. In this, we can trust that He loves us intimately and personally and we can rest knowing that He will never leave us.
